Dozens killed as US warplanes strike insurgents in Iraqi city of Samarra
The US military said Saturday its warplanes killed some 50 insurgents when they dropped 500-pound (230 kilogram) bombs on hideouts in a ground and air  assault on the restive city of Samarra, north of Baghdad.
