Reprieve for the Sire – A post-analytic exposť by Rosa Faiz

“Must I argue that a system thus marked with blood, and stained with pollution, is wrong? No! I will not. I have better employments for my time and strength, than such arguments would imply … At a time like this, scorching irony, not convincing argument, is needed … The feeling of the nation must be quickened; the conscience of the nation must be roused; the propriety of the nation must be startled; the hypocrisy of the nation must be exposed; and its crimes … must be proclaimed and denounced,” (Frederick Douglass, 5 July 1852, in speech titled, What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?).

With this statement we agree one hundred and some percent. One may in fact be tempted to call the current era a Post-Analytic Era. Meaning, we are well-past the point where analysis alone is the primary needed catalyst to spark a change in the hearts and minds of the truly downtrodden. One may more efficaciously invest in growing less scared of the system by creating autonomous institutions of our own, and thus becoming less impressed by the system’s claims to omnipotence, and more discerning of its weaknesses. For it can only be a supremely unstable and weekly-invested system that needs to kill and deceive, murder and rape and insult daily for its survival.

For a demonstration of all-the-analysis-you-need, here is a post-analytic exposť.

For those liberals who are not yet fluent in their first language as well as those postmodernist academics still struggling with non-Academese, the War Secretary Rumsfeld put it as clearly as it could get; with semantics, the syntax and the twist, all tailor-made to parallel a former bigwig who mused loudly and thus, “We came; we saw; we screwed as many and as fast as we saw fit.”

Marx observed, and liberals perpetually fail to understand: reality is far more radical than most of us, even when radically retrograde.

So it has come to be that in doing their own round of going Roman, the Americans are doing it their way. Rumsfeld’s clear pronouncement, delivered to the troops in Mesopotamia, declared, “We don’t have an exit strategy, we have a victory strategy.” That might have sounded stupid and passť to some of the soldiers in his audience, but that is as close as you are going to get to the truth-as-they-like-to-make-it, and it must not be taken lightly; he is stating things in categorical terms, and as best as anybody in the cheerleader-ship positions of US power these days can come up with.

The questions liberals like to ask, in their attempt to look away from all the murderous ugliness in their house, deal mostly with managerial topics; things mostly to do with scheduling of tasks such as, ‘Protecting the museums while invading’, or, ‘Making sure torture is done legally’, or, now, ‘Leaving Iraq’. They may be likened to the nagging husband or the nagging wife. “Are you ready yet?” “Did you remember to book the table at the restaurant?” “When are we going to invite the Whites and the Epstein’s?” “Should we invite the Blacks?” Or, likened to the stressed spouse of a Pentagon mercenary or a CIA operative, nagging about the guest list or the niceties of the party next week, doing their best avoiding the blood oozing from under the Persian carpets and the Turkmen kilims.

And so it was that in the land of the liberty and the land of the grave, the liberals kept bringing up the questions, nagging: “Are we there yet? When are we getting out of Eye-rack?” And so it was too that the authoritative husband (in this case) had to step in and put an end to all the hysterical bickering, and the nonsensical talk of doing such a thing as leaving a just-conquered resource-rich soil. The War Secretary, male fighting gorilla to be, did his national duty, stepped in and stamped out all and any such expectations: Who said anything about leaving?

(Leaving voluntarily, that is.)

“Honey, sweetie-pie! You’ll just have to get used to the flies in the room; never mind the blood on the carpet. Be nice to the Towel-head’s next time you see them, will you pet? We are here to stay; you should do your marital duty and go, ‘Hey, hey, hey!’”

And quite naturally so! Had they been planning on leaving, why would they spend three hundred-billion-and-counting killing a hundred and some thousand people? Why would they suspend civil liberties of their own folks back home if a simple ‘overseas overthrow’ was the end of the idea? Why would they worry about preemptively manufacturing ‘legal’ cover for torturing people to rub their noses in the humiliation to which they were supposed to get used to? Why provide their population a twisted lie of a deception? Just so to knock down the doors of poor innocents, trash their houses, and rape and torture and terrorize their relatives randomly?

Hardly! Hardly!

[P.S: A message to those Eye-Rainians who are talking to Uncle Sam in hopes of greasing up their own ‘in’ with this or that Department of US Imperial: If you’re selling your nation, know what you’re selling it for and take a good long look at your price, you piece of whore; for right after you receive your tip from that stingiest of your uncles, it will get stuck in your throat for good and will choke you!]
