VHeadline.com Venezuela Venezuela's Electronic News — www.vheadline.com BREAKING NEWS www.vheadline.com/readnews.asp?id=21703 In the Latin America section of this upcoming weekend's edition of THE INTERNATIONAL FORECASTER, editor Bob Chapman writes that another clash has occurred between Venezuelan soldiers and a group of paramilitaries on the Colombian-Venezuela border resulting in two paramilitaries being killed. Last heard the armed forces were pursuing 40 paramilitaries, 8 paramilitaries have been captured. Venezuela is collaborating positively with Colombia to reduce the production of coca in the Andean region. The UN and the OAS are very happy with the results of the joint efforts. Coca production in the Andean region has decreased from 580 to 440 tonnes or 25%. Former US Envoy to Latin America and CIA operative, Otto Reich, told BBC he would like to see President Hugo Chavez Frias out of power. Mr. Reich, like his elitist friends in the George and neocons administration, say he is not a democratic leader. We think Mr. Reich means he should be like us and have preventive wars and abuse, rape and torture civilians. That‚s what democracy has become in America. Mr. Chavez was duly elected. HRW's Jose Miguel Vivanco's report ”has no valid force” There is no question that the media is the moving force to unseat Mr. Chavez and then hopes to control the state and all of its institutions. A referendum is coming up next month, which the opposition is sure to lose and they are doing everything possible to discredit the administration. We find it also of great interest that the recent Human Rights watch report calling for the application of the OAS Democratic Charter against Venezuela by Jose Miguel Vivanco has no valid force. Vivanco is a spokesman for Mr. Bush with no authority to ask for the application of the Interamerican Democratic Charter against Venezuela. Furthermore, Mr. Vivanco had a program on CNN with the infamous Otto Reich, thus it proves Mr. Vivanco is speaking for the elitists and the Bush neocons. As far as Venezuela being connected with Colombian guerrillas, a charge made by the US, there has been no answer for proof by the US. This all is a battle of disinformation to undermine the elected Chavez government so that he will withdraw from power and the elitists can again rule Venezuela. Jose Miguel Vivanco's credibility without a prayer Four AMX-30 battle tanks just purchased by Colombia from Spain will be part of a new Brigade, especially created, to patrol the border. Colombia is expecting invasion from Venezuela. It looks like this is part of destabilization campaign to undermine the Chavez government. The purchase agreement was made with the Aznar government that was thrown out of office. We believe the Bush neocons were behind the purchase. The tanks are to arrive 8/15/04 when the Venezuelan referendum comes to a vote. If Mr. Chavez wins, you can expect another Colombian army incursion into Venezuela.
