Washington D.C., January 20, 2008 – Documents published today by the National Security Archive reveal that Mexico’s secret service captured a squad of Argentine military intelligence operatives and expelled them for spying on [exiled rebel] Montoneros living in Mexico” in January 1978. At the time, the Mexican press denounced the presence of foreigners attempting to target and assassinate the leadership of the Argentine Montonero insurgents. Today, the documents of the now dismantled Mexican Federal Security Directorate confirm that agents of Intelligence Area 121 in Rosario, Argentina, “were sent [to Mexico] by the authorities in their country.”

Washington D.C., Enero 20, 2008 Documentos hechos públicos hoy por el National Security Archive revelan como agentes de un escuadrón de inteligencia argentino fueron capturados por el servicio secreto mexicano y expulsados por espionaje a los [exilados] Montoneros radicados en México, en enero de 1978. La prensa de la época denunció las operaciones encubiertas de los argentinos para asesinar a la dirigencia Montonera Hoy los documentos oficiales de lo que fuera la Dirección Federal de Seguridad (DFS) de México, confirman que agentes del Área de Operaciones 121 de Rosario, Argentina, fueron enviados por las autoridades militares de su país.
