Interestingly, aside from Bourdieu, none of the references we've come across so far, investigate the economic implications of the term 'cultural capital', although, to be fair, most find themselves drawn inexorably toward the idea of cultural capital as new kind of economic value but all seem reluctant to explore the idea further. Could this be because it's 'outside' their 'expertise'? In any case, most are sociologists, historians, environmentalists and one ex-Grateful Dead member. None are economists (not that we are either, but given the mess the economies of the world are in, who would ever admit to being one these days?) We, on the other hand, have no fear in going almost anywhere and taking whatever we can from wherever we can, if it has a place in MIMO.
