Hideous Kinky: The Genocidal Fury of Thomas FriedmanN
Chris Floyd
You would think that by now we would have “supp’d full with horrors” on the New York Times op-ed pages. What could be worse than the atrocities that have filled those gray columns in the past few years, the loud brays for war, the convoluted excuses for presidential tyranny, the steady murmur of chin-stroking bullshit meant to comfort the comfortable elite and confirm them — at all times, at any cost — in their well-wadded self-righteousness? Surely, you would think, we have seen the worst. If this was your thought, then alas, alas, alack the day, you were bitterly mistaken, my friend. Comes now before us the portly, fur-lipped figure of Thomas Friedman, Esq., who today has penned what must be the most morally hideous and deeply racist column ever to appear in those rarefied journalistic precincts: “Ten Months or Ten Years.”…

GI Special 4K26: “The Day That Haunts Me” – November 28, 2006
Thomas F. Barton
Father says he’s proud, friends ask what happened to the person they used to know, and the families of those who died, friend and foe, greave endlessly.
I’ve torn it apart a million times in my head, re-evaluated over and over again, each time with the same result. It was unavoidable, at that moment in time. Everyone has their own tragedy, which relative to themselves, is equally painful to them as this was to me. It is these events that shape us in our many facets. In the end, we’re the ones that have to live with it, but even if I got off easy. I’m alive.

ONCE AGAIN RACISM SHOWS ITS UGLY FACE IN ISRAEL
Desert Peace
A new amendment to the Israeli Citizenship and Entry Law is meeting with opposition from the entire left section in the Knesset… both Jews and Palestinians. The new amendment, if passed, will divide even more families than are already suffering. It is not specifically aimed at Arabs (so they say) but at all non Jews… this to make it appear not racist. Perhaps in the minds of demented racists that logic works… not to anyone with a sense of reality and justice. The new amendment is racist and must be defeated… if not, Israel takes yet another step backwards into oblivion. Below is a report from HaAretz about the opposition to the law and the law itself…

President Saddam Trial. UNITED NATIONS Press Release
The Working Group on Arbitrary Detention issued the following statement following its forty seventh session, which ended on 24 November: “Following the recent conclusion of Mr. Saddam Hussein Al-Tikriti’s first trial before the Iraqi High Tribunal, the Working Group decided at the end of its forty-seventh session, held in Geneva from 15 to 24 November 2006, to reiterate its concerns expressed in its Opinion N° 31/2006 of 1 September 2006. In this Opinion the Working Group considered that the non-observance of the relevant international standards during Mr. Hussein’s trial was of such gravity as to confer Mr. Hussein’s deprivation of liberty an arbitrary character. “The Working Group deems it necessary to issue this statement at this time, since it cannot be excluded that the death penalty imposed upon Mr. Hussein would be carried out before the Opinion is published in its annual report to the Human Rights Council. “The Working Group was seized by a communication on behalf of Mr. Hussein, in which complaints about his allegedly unlawful detention had been put forward, whereupon the Working Group delivered two Opinions on this case…

Fierce Fighting Shuts Down Iraqi City
THOMAS WAGNER and SAMEER N. YACOUB
Fierce fighting Wednesday between coalition forces and insurgents shut down the Iraqi city of Baqouba, which has been roiled by violence in recent days, killing scores of militants and civilians. Dozens of bullet-riddled bodies were found around Baghdad. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki arrived in Jordan for meetings with President Bush aimed at halting the escalating violence, but the session was put off until Thursday. To protest the planned meeting between Bush and al-Maliki, lawmakers and Cabinet ministers loyal to anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr suspended participation in parliament and the government to protest the meeting. The political bloc is a mainstay of support for al-Maliki…

They also reported that 25 US soldiers were killed in Haditha –Anbar province- in a three car bombs. – About Saddam trial yesterday I know that many people read the headline only and didn’t read the details, be sure you don’t miss this line: Badie Aref [He is Tarik Aziz attorney also], who is defending former military intelligence chief Farhan Al Juburi, make an appearance in court. Aref said that during the recess, US officials came to his office and told him that he had the power to convict or acquit his defendant, and specified which defense witnesses he should use in the trial. “This is forcing us to do something that the occupation wants,” he told the court. And yes he was arrested today for “saying too much”…

Zionist Complex of Supremacy
Adib S. Kawar
Zionists have a complex of supremacy and they believe that they have a monopoly on rights in every field of life and action, which is according to them, is unlimited and should not be questioned. Zionists decided that there is nothing called Palestinians and all Palestine is theirs; so they decided to colonize the country and replace its indigenous people by the force of arms and state terror (although they claimed that it is a country without a people), and whoever opposes them or resists their violation of human rights is an anti-Semite and a terrorist…

Racism, Resistance and all that Jazz
Mamoon Alabbasi
Britain’s Respect party organised Monday a ‘night of live music and spoken words’ in London, where giant Israeli-born jazz artist Gilad Atzmon and jazz author Martin Smith collaborated to perform a spectacular show entitled ‘Jazz, Racism and Resistance.’ The show was meant to symbolise the strong link between jazz music and the struggle for justice, whether present in the civil rights movement’s fight against segregation or in the current fight for the rights of the Palestinian people…

Iraqi Al-Sadr loyalists suspend membership in parliament, Cabinet
Associated Press
Lawmakers and Cabinet ministers loyal to anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on Wednesday suspended participation in parliament and the government to protest Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s planned meeting with President Bush. The leaders had been scheduled to hold talks in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday, but the session was abruptly postponed a day shortly after Bush arrived. A statement from the 30 lawmakers and six Cabinet ministers said the meeting constituted a “provocation to the feelings of the Iraqi people and a violation of their constitutional rights…

Ledeen: Neocon Critics are Antisemites
Kurt Nimmo
It is said Karl Rove once told Michael Ledeen to fax his “ideas” to him and these so-called ideas often became “official policy or rhetoric,” according to the Washington Post. Back in June, 2003, a few months into the invasion and occupation of Iraq, Jim Lobe, writing for the Inter Press Service, said Rove regularly consulted with Ledeen, to the horror of foreign policy veterans. In fact, Ledeen, according to Lobe’s sources, was the “only full-time international affairs analyst” consulting with Rove, who had Bush’s ear…

Pentagon Considers Moving Troops From al-Anbar Province to Baghdad
JONATHAN KARL, ABC News
ABC News has learned that Pentagon officials are considering a major strategic shift in Iraq, to move U.S. forces out of the dangerous Sunni-dominated al-Anbar province and join the fight to secure Baghdad. The news comes as President Bush prepares to meet with Iraq’s president to discuss the growing sectarian violence. There are now 30,000 U.S. troops in al-Anbar, mainly Marines, braving some of the fiercest fighting in Iraq. At least 1,055 Americans have been killed in this region, making al-Anbar the deadliest province for American troops…

Saddam judge orders arrest of key defence lawyer
Jay Deshmukh
The genocide trial of Saddam Hussein was once again thrown into chaos as the chief judge ejected a key defence lawyer and also ordered his arrest for a day. Judge Mohammed al-Oreibi al-Khalifah ordered the arrest Wednesday of Badie Aref, always a vocal presence in the trial, for “violating professional conduct” (…) Saddam’s trials, including the previous one in which he has been handed a death sentence, have been marred by chaotic sessions with accused and their attorneys often ejected from the courtroom. On Tuesday, a working party of the United Nations Human Rights Council said the previous trial had fallen so far short of international standards that Saddam’s detention was “arbitrary”, and as such the death sentence should not be carried out…

The Zoggiest one of all
Xymphora
It is not clear to me how I managed to write about the complete Zionist control of Congress and failed to note that the new chairman of the House International Affairs Committee will be none other than ultra-ultra-Zionist Tom Lantos, famous for, amongst other outrages, the Kuwaiti baby story and vicious attacks on UNRWA (part of the Israeli plan for a Palestinian ‘diet’). He also wants to attack Iran. The extreme Zionists are going to seal up control of all the committees that Israel cares about, and no one notices…

Hamas condemns the murder of 70-year-old Palestinian in Iraq
palestine-info.co.uk
The Hamas Movement on Monday strongly condemned the murder of the oldest Palestinian refugee in Iraq after his kidnap and torture at the hands of Iraqi armed militias. A responsible source in the Movement said in a press release that Tawfik Abdul Khalek, 70, disappeared last Wednesday in Baghdad and was found earlier Monday killed after severe torture rounds. The Movement also denounced the incessant harassments and assaults against Palestinian refugees in Iraq by “spiteful hands” that got used to “shedding blood of innocents including Palestinians who have long lived in peace in Iraq over the past five decades during which they were the best of guests for the best of hosts”…

Accept defeat by Taliban, Pakistan tells Nato
Ahmed Rashid
Senior Pakistani officials are urging Nato countries to accept the Taliban and work towards a new coalition government in Kabul that might exclude the Afghan president Hamid Karzai. Pakistan’s foreign minister, Khurshid Kasuri, has said in private briefings to foreign ministers of some Nato member states that the Taliban are winning the war in Afghanistan and Nato is bound to fail. He has advised against sending more troops. Western ministers have been stunned. “Kasuri is basically asking Nato to surrender and to negotiate with the Taliban,” said one Western official who met the minister recently…

Witnesses detail Iraq burning deaths
STEVEN R. HURST, Associated Press Writer
The attack on the small Mustafa Sunni mosque began as worshippers were finishing Friday midday prayers. About 50 unarmed men, many in black uniforms and some wearing ski masks, walked through the district chanting “We are the Mahdi Army, shield of the Shiites.” Fifteen minutes later, two white pickup trucks, a black BMW and a black Opel drove up to the marchers. The suspected Shiite militiamen took automatic rifles and rocket-propelled grenade launchers from the vehicles. They then blasted open the front of the mosque, dragged six worshippers outside, doused them with kerosene and set them on fire. This account of one of the most horrific alleged attacks of Iraq’s sectarian war emerged Tuesday in separate interviews with residents of a Sunni enclave in the largely Shiite Hurriyah district of Baghdad…

Friedman: Reoccupying Iraq
John Amato, Crooks and Liars
He’s so distraught over the state of Iraq that Thomas Friedman is losing his mind. He now tells us that Iraq is like thirty civil wars and the only solution would be to reoccupy Iraq again. Wasn’t once enough? And we’re still occupying Iraq or did we already redeploy our troops?. He wants to go into a time machine and start all over. If we actually—you know had time travel–we wouldn’t have invaded Iraq at all! Right Thom? Basically—he’s in fantasy land…
