Iraqis Prepare for Further Sectarian Violence
Zeyad, Healing Iraq
…To grasp how dire the situation in Baghdad has become over the last few days, here is a sampling of posts on Iraqi message boards where people ask for instructions on how to defend their neighbourhoods from marauding militiamen: Ali – Khadhraa district: Please inform us about the areas that are expected to be targeted, so we can be prepared. Also please inform us on the necessary steps we should take to protect our families and ourselves.
Ibn Al-Iraq – Jihad district: Salam Aleikum. I live in the Jihad district. A group from the Mahdi Army tagged Sunni residences and collected their weapons today. God is witness to what I say.
The son of Anbar – Baghdad: Dear brothers, the Khadhraa and Jami’a districts are in need of ammunition. Please come to our aid.
Ali – Ghazaliya: Groups from the evil Mahdi Army are preparing to enter Ghazaliya from the direction of the Centre Street and near the Muhajireen mosque, but residents are in control of most of the streets, despite assistance from the National Guard [for the Mahdi Army] and their cover for the mortar attacks from the Security Street. A woman was injured there from their damn mortars…

Iraq: A Job Well Done
Hesham Tillawi, PhD, thepeoplesvoice.org
“The powers that be” decided it’s time for the Democrats to play their predestined roll in the final phase of “ Iraq no More. The curtain is coming down on the last scene of “ Bravo Republicans” for the long awaited objective of destroying Iraq for Israel. After a short recess the curtain will rise again with a new scene from “ Come home Yankees, we know you tried” as if to say, We went to Iraq to teach Iraqis democracy but they refused to learn it (…) In 1982, a Mossad strategy paper was published in Beirut by the AAUG where it took each Arab country and described in details where the fault lines exist in every country and the easiest way to break it up. They said Iraq was to be broken up into three different countries, Kurds, Sunnis, and Shiites. In 1996 Zionist Richard Perle, who in 2001 was the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy, Zionist Douglas Feith, who in 2001 was the Chairman of the Office of Special planning at the Pentagon and others, mainly Jewish Zionists, wrote a policy paper titled “ A Clean Break: Strategy for Securing the Realm” and presented it to then Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu which clearly stated “…removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq,” an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right.”..

Excuse me Sir, how would you like your Torture ?
Layla Anwar
The other day a group of us were gathered discussing the fate of Omar. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, Omar,18 yo, was torn out from his bed at dawn and abducted .He has disappeared ever since. The last thing we heard is that he was “transferred” from the Death squads custody to that of the Americans. Why and how this “transfer”took place , no one knows. We don’t even know the reasons behind his kidnapping to start with.I will let you figure it out if you can. In fact am not sure anyone really knows where Omar is right now. So seated around a table , sipping tea were : Aunt Kareema (a sunni), Uncle Jassem (a shia), Abu Sami (a christian), a few others and myself. Of course we were all concerned about Omar and what is possibly happening to him…

Iraqi Resistance Report for events of Sunday, 26 November 2006
Translated and/or compiled by Muhammad Abu Nasr, member, editorial board, the Free Arab Voice
…In a dispatch posted at 2:22pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces took control of the city of Buhriz, the third largest city in Diyala Province, about 60km northeast of Baghdad, after a massive attack that targeted all the puppet regime centers on the city. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from inside Buhriz that Resistance men had taken control of the puppet police station after killing and capturing its personnel. The Resistance also seized the headquarters of the Iraqi puppet army after a violent battle that ended with Iraqi Resistance groups raising the banners of their organizations over the headquarters building. In a dispatch posted at 8:15pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the correspondent accompanied Resistance fighters around government offices in the city, all of which had been taken over by the Resistance. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the local residents were warmly greeting the Resistance victory tossing rice at them and cheering…

Neighborhood by neighborhood, Baghdad descends into civil war
Hannah Allam and Mohamed al Dulaimy, McClatchy Newspapers
Sectarian violence has turned Baghdad into a deadly jigsaw puzzle of contested neighborhoods where armed bands of Shiite and Sunni Muslims battle daily for control in fighting that is far more similar to an organized military campaign than is generally acknowledged. For the most part, the Tigris River is still the shimmering blue line that divides Baghdad’s predominantly Sunni west, the Karkh, from the majority Shiite east, the Risafa. But over the past several months, Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi Army militia, often backed by government security forces, has pushed into the western side of the capital and is driving Sunnis from their homes in the east. Sunni forces – neighborhood youths, former Baath Party members, Islamist extremists – are conducting their own purges to expand their grip on the west and defend their brethren across the river…

Sader City
Iraqi screen
…After few days, Sader city riddled with three cars bombs and more than 200 Iraqi killed, everybody was syaing that these cars bombs were a reaction to the 150 man kidnapped by Mahdi army, a very good indication that violent acts only breed more violence and the victims always innocent people. But some of the analysts were asking about the reason behind that deterioration between Sader current and Sunni while they had good relation before, one of the reasons they gave was that Bader brigade was not happy about this relation especially SCIRI wants to have a federalism of the south and middle of Iraq and the only way to drag the Sader current to their side and to take part in the governmnet was to damage this relation by sending cars bombs to Sader city and blaming the Sunni though evreybody know that no Sunni dares to go to Sader city because of Mahdi army control of the city and the so many chek points that make it so difficult for non Shiite person to get inside the city and put cars bombs…

Iran says it’s ready to help Washington in Iraq; denies organizing summit
Canadian Press
Iran said it is willing to help Washington calm Iraq’s escalating sectarian violence, if the United States drops its “bullying” policy toward Tehran, but denied organizing a summit with the leaders of Iraq and Syria to discuss the troubles in its neighbouring country. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said he is “ready to help” the United States, saying Americans are “trapped in a quagmire” in Iraq. “The Iranian nation is ready to help you to get out of the quagmire – on condition that you resume behaving in a just manner and avoid bullying and invading,” he said Sunday while addressing members of the Basij paramilitary group, which is affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. The White House, which is under pressure at home and abroad to approach Iran and Syria for help with Iraq, played down Ahmadinejad’s offer…

Motive for murders
Robert Thompson, Axis of Logic
…The only beneficiaries, if that is the right word, of these two assassinations are the Zionists, and this explains why their usual spokesman, Mr John Bolton, immediately blamed the one state in the immediate region which dared to say out loud that it objected to Zionism and to the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, as well as wishing to recover its territory in the Golan still under enemy occupation. We should not allow ourselves to make any confusion between any ultimate wish of many in Syria to reunite the Lebanon within its borders and a ruthless intention to bring this about by murder and mayhem. The murders are in truth a deep embarrassment to the Syrian government, and the trigger for the death of Pierre Jemayel was, in my view, the signs of an arrangement whereby the Syrians would help to bring order out of the chaos created by the USA-led invasion of Iraq. As several commentators have now said, Syria had, and still has, absolutely no interest in the deaths of either Rafiq Hariri or Pierre Jemayel, but they give its enemies an excuse (however feeble it may be) to try to exclude Syria from making a useful contribution to bringing peace to the Near and Middle East…

Contracting “Clean Break” Chaos in Iraq
Kurt Nimmo
…According to Robert Young Pelton’s upcoming book Licensed To Kill: Hired Guns in the War on Terror, there are now over 70,000 armed men working as security contractors in Iraq (…) The above revelation by Pelton leads to this VALID QUESTION: Have any of the Pentagon’s 70,000 (Civilian) “Hired Guns” (AND Israeli IDF assassination experts) been “provoking violence” in Iraq (disguised as Iraqis), remotely detonating car bombs and indiscriminately murdering both Shias and Sunnis – to create a U.S./Israeli planned civil war that dismembers the nation?…

Hezbollah versus the CIA’s Cedar Revolution
Kurt Nimmo
As the engineered sectarian melt-down in Lebanon crawls forward, it is interesting to read the neocon columnists as they bewail the erosion of the “Cedar Revolution,” that is to say the neocon-neolib subversion of Lebanese politics. “In this sense, the Gemayal assassination is one of the opening shots in Hezbollah’s showdown with supporters of the Cedar Revolution,” writes Mario Loyola for the National Review Online. But what of this so-called Cedar Revolution? Is it purely a Lebanese political phenomenon, having risen out of the anger and opposition to the presence of Syria in the country? Hardly…

‘In Saddam’s time I never saw a friend killed in front of my eyes. I never saw neighbours driven out of their homes just for their sect. And I never saw entire families being slaughtered and killed’
Martin Fletcher, Ali Hamdani, Ned Parker, The Time
…Saad’s dreams were dashed a long time ago. “We always say, ‘Inshallah, there will be a solution’, but realistically we can’t see any hope.” Would he like Saddam back? “Yes,” he says. “For many reasons. During Saddam’s time I never saw a friend killed in front of my eyes, I never saw neighbours driven out of their homes just for their sect, and I never saw entire families being slaughtered and killed.”…
