`Bush-Petraeus Plan and Lower US Troop Death Count Has Nothing to Do With Success in Iraq’ …

(TMPress International – New York – November 01, 2007) –

As we continue to get the `very spun reports’ on US success back from Baghdad … the real news is that massive bombings are still taking place, the Sunni guerilla insurgency is still very active – along with Shiite groups, Turkey is readying an attack on the Kurds in Northern Iraq, Iraqi forces are still quite `unready to police’ and the tale of lower US troop Iraq reports require a second look at deception by US commanders `blinded by oath to succeed, unaware and overly upbeat’ in theatre. This demagoguery has also inflated the egos amongst the White House and at the Pentagon about the role US forces have played over the last 10 months and the so-called `Surge’ on having `their form of success in Iraq.’

No one has really begun reporting `the real impact and the facts’ surrounding the condition that we now have troops in Iraq for a third tour and amongst these many … morale is very very poor … that many units are just avoiding daily assigned force missions as a practical `matter of survival’ by not being on patrol as defined by their superiors.

So what is that and what does it mean … quickly US forces realizing the political fight is in Washington, we are leaving at some point and they are unwilling to get blown up for `a cause that turned out to be another `Big Lie’ … just like Vietnam!

Some US Army vets from Fort Drum in New York report that `morale among US soldiers in the country is so poor, many are simply parking their Humvees and pretending to be on patrol, a practice dubbed `search and avoid’ missions.’

One active duty soldier with the 10th Mountain Division and stationed at Fort Drum served nearly one year in Iraq in the areas of Abu Ghraib and Fallujah, both west of Baghdad and he is one of many making it known. He is on record saying, `morale was incredibly low … adding that most men in his platoon in Iraq were just in from combat tours in Afghanistan.’

According to this GI, their mission was to help the Iraqi army `stand up’ in the Abu Ghraib area of western Baghdad, but in fact his platoon was doing all the fighting without support from the Iraqis they were supposedly preparing to take control of the security situation.

`I never heard of an Iraqi unit that was able to operate on their own,’ he reported – this vet who is now a member of the group Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW).

`The only reason we were replaced by an Iraqi army unit was for publicity.’ This GI also says he personally participated in roughly 300 patrols. `We were hit by so many roadside bombs we became incredibly demoralized, so we decided the only way we wouldn’t be blown up was to avoid driving around all the time.’ `So we would go find an open field and park, and call our base every hour to tell them we were searching for weapons caches in the fields and doing weapons patrols and everything was going fine,’ he added that … `all our enlisted people became very disenchanted with our chain of command.’

So ask a question … would the Pentagon ever want to create `a rosier than though scenario’ – well let’s turn time on it’s ear? Do we remember the last few years of `Vietnamization’ … a stupefied policy creation of Nixon-Kissinger – this bogus notion of lower US force death equaling the bogus notion of ARVN (South Vietnam military) taking up the slack while we concentrate on security over watch and training (withdrawing back to bases) – it never worked and ARVN forces fought NVA and Vietcong units to a standstill … much more aggressively in the field than any Iraqi Army ever will vs. Sunni Insurgents or Shi’ite Militia.

The impeachable clandestine policies (foreign and domestic) carried out by the Bush-Cheney White House during the Iraq War and since 9/11 – should be open enough for any reporter to find the `grimy truth’ and the Pentagon’s `dirty laundry’ is everywhere … all right there for the DC press `to sniff out’ … but yet no one does.

The DC and National media have been so co-opted to the next `big story’ … Iraq is almost a third tier news category now – right where the Bush/Cheney White House want it to be – because the next goal to `fool us to’ is Iran … yes `Iran has been identified’ as the next demon of Vietnam and 9/11 to excise – it makes us feel better when `there is a demon!’ `Lower US troop deaths indeed’ … because of the Petraeus `Surge’ … baloney, more like the `smart individual actions of our own GIs in the field’ who have been abused for nearly six-years by this `Cabal of Neo-Cons’ who treat them like pieces copper to be traded in the markets of the Mideast or sold on the streets of Baghdad … like Iraqi Dinar, wake up newscorp and smell the `bad breath of lies and start reporting as true journalists should’ – remember Iraq WMDs anyone? – By John Osborne, Sr. Political Editor – TMPress International Newswire.
